The vineyard
|
|
Chateau Grand Pierre is a small, family-run vineyard, with 8 hectares of vines, covering the south and west facing slopes of the Cotes de Duras region, between Bergerac and Bordeaux.
We aim to work as naturally as possible with the environment to produce consistently good, affordable wines & operate a low-interference policy both in the vineyard and in the winery, only treating the vineyard when abolutely necessary. .

... and the vignerons |

With a passion for fabulous food, good wine and (reasonably!) healthy living, it was sheer luck (rather than any planned intention) that we happened upon Chateau Grand Pierre in 2004, and instantly fell in love with the place. In the rolling hills of the south west and surrounded by 100 acres of fields, orchards and woodland, with wild boar and deer strutting through the vines, it was our idea of utter heaven. The past three years have been spent slowly renovating the vineyard, the property (which had been empty for over 25 years) and the chai (actually quite a lot of that time was also taken up making, and drinking, our wine) and we are now ready to open our doors & welcome guests to wonderful vineyard retreat in this gorgeous spot in South West France. |
